If you sell food — whether it is a restaurant, a home bakery, a food delivery
business, a grocery store, or a food manufacturing unit — you need an FSSAI
licence. It is not just good practice. It is the law in India.
FSSAI stands for the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Your FSSAI
licence shows customers that your food business meets the national safety standards.
At SHR Professional Services, we handle your FSSAI registration online — quickly,
correctly, and completely.

If your business involves food in any way, you almost certainly need an FSSAI licence. Here are the business types that must register.
Every restaurant, dhaba, quick service outlet, and fast food shop must hold a valid FSSAI licence to operate legally.
Any hotel, club, or resort that serves food to guests and members must be FSSAI registered without exception.
Home-based food businesses, tiffin services, and cloud kitchens — including those selling on Swiggy, Zomato, or Instagram — all need FSSAI compliance.
Any unit that manufactures, processes, packs, or re-packs food products for sale must hold an FSSAI licence.
Businesses involved in distributing, transporting, or importing food products are required to register under FSSAI.
Grocery stores, supermarkets, sweet shops, bakeries, confectioneries, and ice cream parlours all fall under the FSSAI licensing requirement.
E-commerce food sellers and vendors on Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and other food platforms must have a valid FSSAI number displayed.
Catering businesses and wedding food suppliers operating at events across locations must be FSSAI licensed.
Bakeries, cake shops, confectioneries, and ice cream parlours selling directly to consumers must have a current FSSAI registration.
Be Prepared
Our team will guide you through every document. Requirements vary by registration type — here is a complete overview.
Simple Process
We handle everything end to end. You only need to share your documents — we take care of the rest.
Step 01
We assess your business type, turnover, and operations to determine whether you need Basic registration, a State licence, or a Central licence — at zero cost.
Step 02
We send you a personalised document checklist via WhatsApp. Once you share the documents, our team reviews them for completeness and accuracy before filing.
Step 03
We file your application directly on the official FoSCoS (Food Safety Compliance System) portal on your behalf — correctly and promptly.
Step 04
The FSSAI authority reviews your application. For State and Central licences, a premises inspection may be carried out. We prepare you and coordinate with the inspector on your behalf.
Step 05
Your 14-digit FSSAI registration number or licence is issued by the authority. We track the application status and notify you the moment it is approved.
Step 06
We hand over your FSSAI certificate, which must be displayed at your business premises. We also guide you on correctly displaying the FSSAI logo and number on your food packaging and labelling.
Stay Valid
FSSAI licences are valid for 1 to 5 years — you choose the period when applying. After expiry, you must renew your licence. We track your renewal dates and handle timely renewal for you.
Choose your licence period when applying. Longer periods cost slightly more but save you from frequent renewal hassle.
We proactively track your FSSAI expiry date and handle renewal before the deadline — so your business never lapses into non-compliance.
Operating without a valid FSSAI licence — or after expiry — can attract penalties up to ₹5 lakhs and even imprisonment.
Packaged Food Products
If you sell packaged food products, the FSSAI logo and your 14-digit licence number must appear on every product package. This is mandatory under the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations.
We guide you on the correct way to display FSSAI details on your packaging and labelling — ensuring you meet every regulatory requirement before your product goes to market.
Every packaged food product must display your unique 14-digit FSSAI number
